Sublime, essence of uncluttered lines and color. One of the best images I've seen in while.

Great use of Diana, longish exposure, and high contrast lighting. Took me several seconds to figure out what this was -- the thumbnail doesn't do it justice.

My kind of image. Very clean with contrast between the form and the texture. The three long shadows are just right.

I don't rate many images as tops in all categories, but this is an outstanding image worthy of any publication. A perfect cover image - congratulations and thanks for showing it.

Emil, another fabulous, powerful portrait. I love the use of Fomapan film for the grain, which is almost tactile in this image. Her face is dignified and sculptured, capturing age and emotion. Thanks for the lesson. R.J.

Chris, this is very nice! I am really attracted to the light -- no need for moving or second guessing. Great time to be setup for imaging, and you got it.

This is really evocative and wonderfully lit. Did you do much post-processing? The shadows in the forest are just visible on my monitor.

Syrie,
An outstanding example of the power of vision and photography. I know that it's almost impossible to know before your print what you will get from a toy camera, but what really makes this image come alive is the dress, body position, and style of the subject. It absolutley feels like this picture was taken at least a hundred years ago.

Thanks for the kind comments. This image was made on a moving sidewalk in a tunnel that does between the East and West buildings. Since we are all moving, it was hard to predict the result, but shooting towards the light at the end of the tunnel leads to the interesting lighting effects on the shiny tunnel walls and ceiling.

Thanks again Maggie! Unfortunately I do not have any color version of this -- only XP2 Super. However, I can easily go back to the location I took this and experiment more, perhaps with Scala.
People either seem to love this image or hate it -- I guess it's like any other abstract art. I don't have many abstract images, but personally I love straight lines, and will continue to work on images like this till I can get a print that works.

Thank you for the kind comments and criticism - I very much value it. Michel, XP2 is asa 400, and is an amazing film. It is processed standard c-41, and can be printed on both color or b&w paper, yielding different results. XP2 is about as sharp an asa 400 print film as you are likely to see, and you can easily shoot it at asa 800 with hardly any increase in grain. I think it is fantastic for an all around street film (and it's cheap!!).

Thanks Maggie! I really appreciate the time you take to provide constructive feedback and examples. People like yourself are a main reason why usefilm is such a great site.
I see what you mean about the upper contrast, which is a bit high. This photo was taken with the early morning sun burning down on this pier. Maybe I will try to rework a bit with PS. Thanks.
