I think it could use a bit more birghtness to it. Perhaps a larger appature and/or longer shutter, I don't know. Whatever the technical details I just feel that it needs brightened up.

Was that redundent enough for you? :P

Cheers

Now this is good, IMHO. I like the feeling you captured of the elderly man. He does look weary, spent and frustrated. Ctaching the flag in the background says it all.

It's almost scary commenting on a WTC-related photograph and it's even scarier to critique it but I will. It's a nice shot with plenty of possibilities. I think a tighter crop with more sad faces being clearer may be in order. Another thought I had was shooting from a low angle, with the firefighter sign as a focal point in the corner and the faces as the subject.

Sorry, I came here to see your work, I hate saying bad things but I noted your desire to be a war photographer. I just wanted to give a little of my advice.

Beautiful sunset shot, Barbara. Love the contrast of the golden sun and the blues of the sky. I agree about the Fujifilm. I use it a lot. I think the Fuji Reala is another great film for good color. See my "Autumn Morning" shot for how Reala looks.
Best wishes,
Jimmy
