Hi Orchid, I so much enjoyed looking (and studying) this interesting and beautiful photograph! Thanks for the little bit of history. I've never seen this before, I found it very interesting. I love seeing the colors and textures of the ruins, etc. So nicely lit photographed by you! Very nice job, and your composition is great! (and the clouds co-operated beautifully didn't they?)

Hi!....Orchid : An excellent Photograph, of this Historical Place, I like the detail, and the colour, not a criticism, if you croppe the top of the sky, to just above the Clouds, you have a wonderful Panoramic View....However excellent as it is.....!!!
Regards: Jeff.
Ps: I am pleased with your comment: your right, I did dedicate, the Photograph to you, Orchid....Before I, uploaded It!.......Jeff!!!

Hi Orchid, this is a wonderfull picture from a fermilliar sigt. I stoot there once too, in Pompeii looking too the Vesuvius. It was a wonderfull experience but i had no camera than so i got no pictures of it. This is really wonderfull one, you caught the killer from the city and the old/gone city in one picture wonderfull. The sky looks nice and quite, maybe on the day of destruction a Man/Women from Pompeii stood there too looking to the Vulcano not knowing what was going to happen, right on that spot where you stood too! Crazy idea! Superb photo, my compliments! 7+++ Greets, Lex

Hi Orchid, Reading the very intersting background, the composition falls completely in place. It creates an atmosphere where the ancient city and the disaster of 79 AD with the rain of ashes from the sky that eventually buried the city are put into retrospective with the clear blue sky of 2001. An excellent combination of past and present. Very well done, my friend! Outstanding work....
Cheers,
Hugo

Orchid, you did a very good job with the lighting on this one. Your camera caught the details of the flower planter in the shade without blowing out the sunny area to the rear. Very lovely scene. The flower planter brought back memories I have of a small farm village, in an area called Apple Valley, just south of Bad Kreuznach. The main road through the village was lined with flowers planters loaded with beautiful petunias and geraniums. Thanks for the memory. Jimmy

Hi Orchid, I know what you mean; difficult circumstances, but a very pleasing and appealing photo. I do like it... It radiates the warmth of a summer afternoon, and carries a very pleasing languidly atmosphere. I think the composition is a bit unbalanced, as if you were concidering two possibilities, and went for a compromise. I think the flowers and the grating create an excellent framing for the colours in the background, but are IMHO not the primary subject. I took the liberty of cropping the photo a bit, hope you don't mind. I'm curious to what you think....

Hi Orchid, Thanks for the dedication.... I feel honoured.... I've heard so many good stories about how beautiful Pompeii is, and this is no exception. The photo carries a really welcoming and tranquil atmosphere. You've captured a lovely place in an excellent setting and composition... The azul colour is a very nice touch. Great work!
Thanks again,
