Well, first she is beautiful and she has very attracting eyes.
I don't know what you are using for flash and I don't know what kind of control you have over it.
To improve that shot, you could use a diffuser on the flash, that you cut the very sharp lighting effect that flashes give out. Then it would be a good idea to expose the scene with a spot reading for the background. If light is low, a tripod would be necessary. The idea is to get the same "relative" exposure for the backgroud and the subject so the is less contrast between the two.

Fantastic! Did you have to do Tone mapping as well or just HDR (in Photoshop I assume)...
I love the results! Would deserve a 7/7!

This picture is very nice. You could increase the result by using a remote flash and increasing the f stop to give you more depth of field... then sky is the limit if you like to use PS filters and digital techniques.
Have fun!

I love this kind of images. It makes very good use of line, it's very dynamic. The long shadows give the image some life as well.

This is more an experiment than anything else but I still like the High contrast, surreal effect.

Cette image respire la beauté et le bonheur. L'effet ajouté dans PS est excellent, juste ce qu'il faut sans prendre toute la place.

Hello,
I was going through the pictures in the critiquer's corner and found yours. The composition is good and the mirror like lake it a good idea. You said that the exposure was good, I imagine you relied on the camera meter but it can sometimes be misleading since the camera gives an averaged reading. It does not account for very bright areas like the sky in your photo. When facing such a shot, it is always a good idea to compensate for the very bright areas by underexposing one or even two stops. However, you sometimes end up losing details in the darker areas. Still you can get "crispier" images.
Best regards!

Thank you! However, the picture I asked permission to use is a very good example of the rule of the thirds and also it is great to explain the use of diagonals in an image. That was the reason I ask for that one.
I am planing to give a few friends some lessons with their new digital camera and I will do the same on my personal web space.
Thanks again... and I won't use the image without due permission.
Take care!

The pose is very good, this image is striking. However, I find it a bit on the cold side (unless it was intended) and would remove a bit of cyan to give it some more punch. Then again, could our screen that are calibrated differently.
My two cents!

Very good!
The exposure is perfect, the colors are wonderfull and I would not worry about the jet trails.
The only downside I find is the perspective. I find the barn is a bit too distorted.
Keep up the good work!

It took me 7 nights to get to this results. The timing was confirmed right after the first night. However to get these fireworks took 7 nights. After the shoot was taken and without even seeing the actual picture, I knew I had it!
