Hi Thimoty, I like the perspective, and the use of shadows and light. Thanks for the narrative. Very interesting. Maybe if you'd selected a more extreme camera tilt, the tension and dynamism in this shot might've been slightly increased, though.

What a fantastic shot Timothy and an even better story! Well done you for saving this crazy looking pup! Thank you everyone for your comments. I have to admit that even though I live with this dog, I break out into a smile everytime I see this photo. It was really quite by accident that it turned out like this. I was trying to get a photo of his dirty face. When I saw the shot on my digital camera I thought to myself "Darn, he closed his eyes." and took some other shots. When I transfered it to my computer I saw the real shot.
I don't know if you read the other photo with him that I posted, but this dog was on "Death Row" at the Humain Society. He was back for his third time. The first time he was found on the street, then went to a couple who decided that the husband spent too much time with the dog so it was the dog or her, (Silly man got rid of the dog) and then an elderly woman, he is too much puppy for someone older.
So, he - and we - have much to be happy for!

timothy, excellent! i love this! i like the composition and where you placed the focus. very impressive shadow detail. what with that bright spot that had good potential to blow out but you reigned it in and kept it in check. very well done!
one question: why does the the right side of the rings look purplish while they seem to be metallic grey (gray?)?. is it a lighting effect/artifact or are the rings made of multiple metals?
anyhow, thank you so much for your great comment on my macro. very happy you dug it. i'm flattered! btw, i'll have to come back and dig through your portfolio. you have some very cool & interesting stuff here.
