Hey Steve,

Well I like the lens allot and it takes great pictures but I still seem to keep leaving the house with the 18-55mm kit lens, the 28 is not wide enough for me .. It?s like having a 45mm film lens.

Last week I splurged and the 28-105 has been replaced with the new EFS 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM. All I can say is I?m loving it.... and the Image Stabilizer is all that... This is the perfect street lens.

Now I just take the 17-85 IS and 75-300 IS and I'm good to go. Covered from 17-300mm

Plus the new lens was made for Digital and only works with the Digital Rebel, Rebel XT and 20D

Hope this helps,

sm..

Oh, I have just been shooting around the house and park so I have no intresting pix to post since I've had the lens. Here is one of the car at the park.

Hi Stu, Just realised you have been using this lens (Fred Miranda review site !!).
I've taken the plunge and got a 20D with the same lens, I wonder what comments you had (best aperture for sharpness etc)

Oh ... love the piccie and had commented last November lol

I like the work, it did define the W&W tone creativity, the ghostly image enhances the composition, superb. Saeed

Thanks Ben, I took this at 0.5s @ f/3.5 ... I removed the saturation and then used a solarize filter from ACDsee then added the border in PS.

Glad you liked it and hope this helps.

Thanks Steve, I heard the same thing but I think it's some of the older ones. This lens has been around for some time and I heard Canon has made a few adjustments to it. Plus $600 and get the quality I'm getting :-) ?. Compared that to an L series $2500 and up 300mm zoom. I'll stick with mine till I win the Lotto. hehehehhe
Later Bud.

Thanks Dan I appreciate the comment, but after I uploaded it I noticed something I should have fixed .... I seem to do this allot and it's always after it's on UF with comments .... I have heard allot of people here say they do the same thing as well.. Here is what I think it should of looked like before uploading it.

Thanks again,

Fabulous capture Stuart - I have read reviews on this lens saying it was soft focus etc ... obviously those chaps had vaseline smeared across the glass ;-)

This is razor sharp - superb photo !

Best wishes,
Steve
