very good shot. I agree with Marilyn, when photographing anything in bright light it's a little more difficult, especially a whit bird. Nothing blown out ... great job.

Hi Padma,

Wonderful to hear from you ! Thanks for the feedback, and Jal Mahal is in Jaipur! It is right in the city (though I would not know the exact location/name of the area)! It really looks good, and is currently getting rennovated!

Keep in touch! Cheers, NN

Well done Narayanan, I agree this is my favourite also, of your current Taj series. Beautiful composition, great DOF, good colour & lighting and is quite dramatic, too me.
I agree with Petal Mar 05, B&W negative ? maybe you should correct all series to something like -Kodak Ektachrome 100. Would that be closer ?
Well done anyhow
Sven

What a beautiful title Narayanan ! It adds so much of imagination to the picture. In any case, we all know that these gentle giants are one of the most protective of their little ones. Looks like they have just come after enjoying the mandatory mud bath. I can even spot a tiny little bird (is it common myna ?) at the bottom left of your composition.
Thanks for sharing.
regards, anurag

Hi, I'm just wondering how this photo was post-processed. You say its from black and white film but there is some colour in it. Also, there seems to be a lot of noise in the image. Was this artificially added or is it a property of the film used?

Cheers,

Bruce

Hi Narayanan, I think you have captured the feeling of the moment very well. Even without an explanation of the photo it would speak for itself.Ian Pearson

I really like the colors of this picture. is it true that it was shot on BW negative film? Postcolorization? Or just a mistake?

This is a wonderful photo. I love all wildlife but for some reason these huge gentle creatures have a special place in my heart. Thankyou so much for sharing this great moment with us.
