I liked the intensity of the tight crop gave to the portions of the building with the most intense reflection. But here is another shot that may be more what you invisioned, thanks for your comments.

I don't think the lack of trees or shrubs is from development but just the harsh climate and terrain. Hence why when CA has summer fires there is nothing left to prevent landslides during heavy rains. But too many places in CA people built in places they should never have. I have a another picture I posted where homes were sliding into the ocean and that is sad.
