Michalis:

The high contrast in the sky and across the picture is what makes it graphically appealing to me, I could be more gentle on the sky and will probably tone it down some. Thanks for the comments

What can I say, sometimes I just know how to pick em,...I'm so bad.

Went to your website, very well done, and your self-protrait? titled Funhouse is very cool, is your background out of the advert. or fashion world of NYC by any chance?

Dearest Nicole:

Bentley here, so very glad you lapped up the shot of me and mum. As a human you show wisdom and kindness oh so rare, my masters being rare exceptions as well. I have some other shots of mou and my extended family, shame way too many of my dreadful brother Cuddles, or Kibble for Brains or whatever dreadful name his owners come up with, you can see the whole sordid history under Portfolio of Every Picture tells a Story in Larry's postings. I would give a lick if I could but I'll take a nice doggie treat in leau of.

Sincerely,

Bentley Remington, Esquire

Oh crap you just read my last post and this is a shot of your reaction... congrats on the award, though I favor the Goddess Shirley.

I'm making a rare appearance on the front page today, and was recently featured photo of the day on Webshots, on Friday the 13th where they featured Black Hole unda the patio... guess I make a good creepy shot. Toot Toot, must be my own horn going off.

Hope you're not getting a goddess complex, cuz I felt a shiver on my neck viewing this. ( I suffer from Oprahophobia: the fear of powerful Goddess like women who give away cars, and make sane woman faint, a variation of the newer Barackaphobia: the fear of politians who look good, make sane woman faint, but sound left of Ted Kennedy). Anyway, you still the master of the software, now gotta check out the less happy goddess protrait.

Thanks Michele, I don't know if I love to sweat, but it comes easily and often, especially with our ninty degree days. So from Florida back to Oregon, I think I take Oregon anyday, been there just barely a day or so, but impressive.

Cathy,

Glad you enjoy my work. To answer your questions, you will notice he has a black robe as well, indicating he is on the faculty and not a graduating senior. Probably there to assist a special needs student or prevent mayhem from breaking out. The loss of hair is probably from dealing with teenagers 9 months of the year, my couple of teens have done a number on my hairline as well, though not as severe.. more clumps of bare spots from occansional pulling my hair out.

I am disappointed too with quality, working with 300mm end of my zoom, with no tripod and had to go to 1600 ISO and still could only get 5.6 aperture and speed of 1/50 to 1/100 of second if I was lucky. Also wish I had taken another shot after the ceremonies began to get all the caps going in one direction... but alas I forgot.

Does that hot pink snowsuit actually melt snow? Really like the jarring contrast of colours (nod to your English ways)and the simple composition, should be a Best in Project, but who I'm I to judge.

Thanks for all your comments, I will play with the ice on the reed shots, just not crazy about the look of the ice as I was the background ones, you must of spent some time going through my portfolio, I must of posted this one in 2005, glad you enjoyed.

Overall good shot, my suggestion would be to crop off the right and left edges some more to even more emphasize the vertical pull of the shot.
