Your first comment a first for me, great image and no fairy dust, love the blues, you are a software master.

Cathy,

Glad you enjoy my work. To answer your questions, you will notice he has a black robe as well, indicating he is on the faculty and not a graduating senior. Probably there to assist a special needs student or prevent mayhem from breaking out. The loss of hair is probably from dealing with teenagers 9 months of the year, my couple of teens have done a number on my hairline as well, though not as severe.. more clumps of bare spots from occansional pulling my hair out.

I am disappointed too with quality, working with 300mm end of my zoom, with no tripod and had to go to 1600 ISO and still could only get 5.6 aperture and speed of 1/50 to 1/100 of second if I was lucky. Also wish I had taken another shot after the ceremonies began to get all the caps going in one direction... but alas I forgot.

Does that hot pink snowsuit actually melt snow? Really like the jarring contrast of colours (nod to your English ways)and the simple composition, should be a Best in Project, but who I'm I to judge.

Thanks for all your comments, I will play with the ice on the reed shots, just not crazy about the look of the ice as I was the background ones, you must of spent some time going through my portfolio, I must of posted this one in 2005, glad you enjoyed.

Overall good shot, my suggestion would be to crop off the right and left edges some more to even more emphasize the vertical pull of the shot.

Harry:

The blurred bark could be cropped off, as you Shirley Cross suggest, good feedback, thanks.

Like the grain in the sky, makes it seem like from another era, or timeless. Also a dream like quality to the shot.

I'm torn on the sepia tone, like to see it in straight B&W, but very nice pastoral shot, diagonal composition of spring and the horsies. Whats up with all the fairies lately? Luckily (for me) none in this pasture unless a horse apple projectile took it out of commission.

Your favorite MN nut case, Larry.

Like the composition of the empty chairs and the lone girl, looks like she is getting ready to do the hokey-pokey, or the chicken dance?

Thanks, and you do have to watch those trees carefully, but I often get accused of seeing the forest but not the trees. Like your Sam Adams' beer by the way, if ur that James Cook.

One shot, I took the magic wand tool in PShop and hit the background woods and blurred it using one of the blur tools and that is what came out, played with contrast and few other elements as well, thanks for kind words.
