A good photo of a good subject. In my opinion it could be improved by a bit of cropping. The left side has some distractions that do nothing for the image. If it were cropped about half way between the post and the car fender, the resulting vertical would be stronger and would eliminate the distractions of the post and the tonal variations on the left edge of the wall. I'd also prefer it in true B&W ... I find the sepia to be a bit too literal.

Hi Chuck,

I haven't been around much lately, but still stop by now and then to see what my old friends are up to. Wonderful portrait. God bless her.

Very nice and interesting, with the sky an cloud reflections in the windows and the rigid verticals and horizontals. The poor little tree looks lost.

Wonderful photo Terry ... I seems as though UF users don't even bother to look or comment anymore ...

At least it died a natural death instead of being torn down to build a condo or strip mall ... Nice colors and composition here.

Maybe the ghost of Walker Evans passed by ... I hear that he used to "liberate" signs all the time!

I can't believe that this has gotten only 3 views to this point!!! This is a fine landscape. Nice composition and quiet slivery tones. Nice work.

This reminds me of Walker Evans' sign photos. Proof that even simple objects can make good pictures.

This reminds me of Robert Frank's "The Americans". The hidden face and somber tones. The sense of isolation and disconnect. Very impressive.

This is an instant classic! When I first saw this, I was wondering if it was shot during a competition, or if it was posed. I decided that it dosen't matter. The picture is complete in itself, and the circumstances that it was made under are irrelevent.

While I agree with Martin that the specks are a distraction, to me your composition is dead-on. Your cropping has some tension to it, and is less static.

Great work!

Very innovative use of framing the image. The mirror give a bit of distortion and muted colors for a dreamlike image. Wonderful image!

How did I miss this one? .... Better late than never. Another lost gem, but a great photo. I don't agree with Sandy that the contrast is too high ... it helps to give this one a stark & lonely look that works great here.

It's nice to know that somebody actually knows who Edward Weston was! Very good tribute photo. The only thing that I'd like to see different here is that the background in the lower right could use a bit of burning to separate it in value from the petal. Other than that ... Great!

I wonder what Weston would have thought of digital imaging?

Now this is cool! Wonderful use of color and light. Reminds me of Joel Sternfeld.

I'm surprised to see this car sitting on beach sand, since it's not a four wheel drive! I did that once, and ended up buried to the axel!
