Thanks folks!
Jan, ss always, I blaze several shots in a row, then check the result, crop heavily, play even more 'heavily' in PS 7.0 and voila, a shot like the one I 've seen before somewhere...copy cat.
Angela, if you mean "littliest boy" was the kid at the bottom left of picture - then I'd say he is not a boy, she is a girl ha..ha..with a very neat haircut like Sinead O Connor in her golden days!
have a nice day!

I beleive it called "candle wick" ...:-) the thing in the middle of a burning candle.
Since I am a beginner, what I did mainly is to "get inspired" from nice pictures I've came across.
I played with anything near me...ha..ha..
In this case, I wanted to capture the candle light only. Beside, the surroundings were not so "photogenic", that why I prevent them to show up on this picture.
Tks anyway for the tips! Oh, not like your habit (ha..ha..ha..), I shot this candle on broad daylight, indoor.
Tks man!

Nice shot! Love the burning detail of the candle euh... what is that in the middle (kalo bahasanya sih sumbu...). Just a hint, if you'd like to experimenting, try to do some slow-sync, whereas you put small apperture (large number) and slow shutter speed with flash, so that the object (fire in this case) will not glow too bright while the surroundings are captured nicely. Or maybe with remote/slave flash under the cross to add the dramatic view.
Happy experimenting! Cheers!

If that's the reflection of the pathway lighting, then you catch it well my friend! The pole did not distracting at all. See, the scenery is that you're in a building (sometimes in the 26th century LOL) overlooking the dusty city atmosphere that prevents the sunrays from killing humankind. You're inside the building, sealed all the people from harmfull pollution outside. The building is dingy and dusty and cold, but still kept the best Thai Restaurant in the city....

He..he..Chon, there was other bystander, just me. The reflections on the glass in front of me was un-avoidable since there were glasses everywhere around the curved wall and also up - down side from where I stand.
The "sunrays" - horisontal yellow line - is no sunrays at all, sorry. That was the direct reflections of continous pathway lighting, 2 meters behind me :-)
If that should look like sunrays, I am happy tho! And the flower like pattern and the right end of the sunrays was I think-also some ornamaments (..not sure) behind me, bit distracting I agree.
Even more distracting, IMHO, is the pole at the right...a little more cropping or my changing position could result a better picture.
Now, my friend, now at the opposite section of that floor, there's the best Thai Resto in town! The Thai and I (rhyme sounds familiar?)
Try it, if you're not already! Thanks for your idea!

You can see the flowers on the foreground has some colors left. The little girl's expression, in my view, is "unusual" with the curly hair and all.

Good catch my friend! It looks like Jakarta in the future. The building looks futuristic and cold while the sunrays seems unable to penetrate the cloudy polluted atmosphere.... The composition is unique but interesting, the glimpse of the sun over the window adds the sense of coldness future... Interesting. Just wonder what is the "things" on the right end of the sunrays. Was it the reflection of the bystanders? Guess you should edit them because it's a bit distracting, but just a bit though.... Cheers!

I personally use the S45, pretty much same as the A-range Canons. I not long ago recommended the A80 to my friend when he went to Europe for holidays. He only uses ot for point and shoot so he was pretty happy with the results.... Cheers, Ben

Thanks for the encouragement guys!
Yes, the moon is too small (since it was in early phase) and my optics is so limited.
I did try using f2.8 (max. available) but the shadows on the wall bluurred/or the moon blurred So, balancing both object I ended up using f5.6. Too bad also, the camera shutter can only open at 15 sec. maximum
Thanks for the advice, I'll try 'em later - when I got a better equipment ;-)

Tah ieu sae geuning......! Well, this one is very creative, good composition, but capturing the moon is such a tricky things to do since it's very far away. You might use a 500mm lens or more to catch it nicely.... My suggestion is, focus on something relatively near (like the treetop or rooftop, or in this picture, the edge of the roof) and let the moon become the background. More over, use smaller apperture (larger number) to widen the DOF, and longer exposure time... Good catch man!
