4B shot, Bruce!

Batsman, bat, ball and bails. All there.

Great timing and capture. Congrats!

Nice capture, Bruce. Shows the loneliness of the batting position to great effect. Nice focus on the batsman given out, and there is a nice compositional triangle linking Mark, the celebrating fielders and the scoreboard.

This caught my attention and made me laugh . . . rather incongruous but an honest clip of life you managed to capture perfectly. Love the red wheel against the greens but the people and their preoccupations are what make the scene! Well seen and captured!

Great capture Bruce ... "A-MAZE-ing" ;-)

Sorry about that, I'm cooked up inside on a Sunday because it is raining heavily lol

Good photograph, lots of action all around.

Best wishes,

Beautiful capture Bruce, it certainly is a wonderful time for capturing these - it goes by all too soon as well unfortunately.

Lovely photograph :-)

Trish, knowing your portfolio of children's photos quite well I really appreciate that. You're one of 4 or 5 on here whose work I think back to if I'm asked to take shots of friend's children. Thanks.

Cheap glass no longer a problem. Lack of talent is! I'm working on it. Bought myself an 80-200mm f2.8 a little while back and having great fun with it now. Just got to wait 4 or 5 months for next season! Thanks for all your comments.

A reshoot might be kind of difficult now! You're right about the positioning though. Thanks for the comment.

Just checked the exif data. F1.4 @ 1/8000. If it was the only picture I took that day I would have chosen a narrower aperture but I was playing with different styles for different pictures. I'm still very inexperienced and learning every time I go out. I must admit I am overdoing the minimal DOF shots at the moment but It's a newish lens and I'm experimenting. I'll get bored soon and go back to shooting deeper DOF. I appreciate your comment. Thanks.

Nice one!!! Great colors, good DOF... well done!! As far as the composition goes: I see two options: first... cut away a tiny bit on the right so that they're centered, or second... add more to one side so that they're really off center.... I can't tell you which I prefer, but if you choose the second option I think a re-shoot would be best.... ;-D!!!!

Bruce,

I think you lack a bit of depth of field here. You should have a record of the apperture setting saved in the digital file. It would be nice to get a bit of sharpness in the bluebells. The only sharp item here is that tree trunk.
