Yeah, the photo is still very effective with the shallow depth of field. The colors sure do help.

This actually reminded me of the iris of a camera. The organic camera.

It surprises me that I am the first person to comment on this touching photo. Maybe you have to be from the coast to really follow in your mind the path that leads over the hill and into the ocean. Reguardless, the photo is subtle in it's beauty and doesn't require any extra effort to succeed.

Hey Blake, is this at your house?

Either that or at the beach. Anyways, great definition in the trees. Truly a sharp lens.

I'm glad you responded on one of my other photos, because after that I went to your portfolio. Quite the collection!

I'll have to experiment with the whole drops thing. I also liked the pencil shavings.

I'll try out your suggestion on posting times as well.

Thanks.

Brilliant color on the leaves and sky, Blake.

So you got the 70-200 already?

I like the tonal qualities of this photo just the way they are. It reminds me of Monet.

Thats not to say it doesn't need something in the foreground.

I don't know about you, Kris, but I would be more concerned about what happened to that poor girl's arms!

Just wondering, did you up the contrast in photoshop for this?

I like the the lack of center of interest, and the shear number of birds makes for an intersting picture.

I like how the depth of field and the fake head seem to make it look like one big toy set or something.

Good job balancing the exposure of the flash and the undoubtedly dim indoor lighting. A filter on the flash might have helped match the surroundings, though

The mood works well, but I wish there was more going on with the foreground. The lower left is more distracting than it should be.

It looks more to me that he is holding on for dear life than just relaxing, but whatever. How much did you have to crop this to get it that close the wasp?

In a way I like the framing, and in a way I don't. If the sky was more dramatic/intersting then I would keep this shot, but as it is now the ground is the best part, not the sky.

Too bad you couldn't have used a tripod for this shot. I love the smoke trail.

Was that the actual ISO? If so I might suggest cranking that up a bit.

Ugh...Pabst.

Sorry, bad memories there.

I can't tell, is this a set shot with a flash, or is that window light (in which case they are drinking entirely to early. j/k)

I like the tape idea, but it kinda distracts from the rest of the picture, in my opinion.

I think a polarizer could have really helped this photo stand out.

I've had a lot of interest in IR, but my 20D isn't very well suited for it. Great shot, though. I wish it had some more vegetation to show off the IR qualities, though.

Donor!

Well, somebody has the cash to spend.

Cool shot of the piano, Blake.

I guess I don't really dig the photoshop, but oh well. Try to break the mold next time.

Beautiful color on that shot! Thats cool how you can still see the trunk of the tree. Great abstract.
