Thanks alot!! Sadly, the grain is not 'sharp' after upload ((( And if you use 'unsharp mask', it looks like digital 'noise (In the original the grain is sooooooooooooo sharp!!!

Ha! Yeah I know.... I am very 'mathematical'... and this is not a big thing.... but it makes me really curious.... I've asked 'support@usefilm'.... but I got no good answer.... how an average can decrease when it is rated higher is a mystery...!!???

Mark - So glad you changed the title back to "Quality Time!!?" It is really a tremendous presentation...I have only recommended three photos for awards here at UF (over several months), but I recommended "Quality Time" this morning immediately after viewing it. To me, it is special work.

By the way, this photo is absolutely stunning! It is one of those images that is impossible to merely glance at.

Best wishes...

I always had the same question regarding the ratings. I rated your image 7. If other two rated it at 5 and 6, the average would be 6, not 6.3. If any of those ratings was lower, the average would be lower than 6. I presume that there is some weighting applied to the grades. Maybe based on the rank of the reviewer? I had also noticed in the past the following. I rated a picture which had some rating (forgot the actual numbers). My rating was greater than that number, so you would assume that the overall grade should go up, or at least stay the same if the number of ratings is very high. But, believe it or not, it went down.
Either there is a bug in the software, or the calculation mechanism is not linear.

Mark - I am personally disappointed that you changed the title. It was perhaps my favorite UF "presentation" (photo AND title....it was such a good marriage of the two) of all time! Just thought I would pass along my opinion. Nevertheless, I enjoyed looking at your portfolio and appreciated the friendly reminder to me to put the newspaper down and listen more often (i.e., spend some "Quality Time!!?"). I am looking forward to more of your posts!

Thanks!! Yeah I fully agree.... the boy needs to be sharper... but 1/15s and f1.4 does not make this possible.... but that's reportage I guess. And how the h*ll do these average ratings work??? How can you have 6.3 from 3 ratings when you can only rate 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 7!!???
