Great detailed shot Del, I don't know about Virginia, but Here in Iowa the ants have been something else this year, there seems to be more than usual, we have seen red ones and big black ones as well as the kind in your photo, we and our neibors have been trying to get rid of ant mound everywhere, and I hate them in the house!

Lilacs are wonderful additions to any yard, it's too bad they don't last longer, although ours seemed to linger longer this year---great shot!
