Well done! Very convincing PS work, I like the continuity of the shadows on the wall.

This shot has all the right elements my dear friend. Great composition, the color is perfectl saturated and the contrast is spot-on. I love it.

You're givin' me goosebumps!
1) I'm glad you liked the shot.
2) Yes, the rope sucked, I didn't want to chance a fakey looking C-stamp on it but, I probably could have done it convincingly.
3) The land on the right should've gone bye bye.

I need your continued, and well considered honesty, UF can become a nighty meeting of the Mutual Admiration Society.
It may seem bizarre, but I want people to tear my work apart and be picky. First off its more interesting to read. Secondly, I very much desire to improve my pictures, even newbies criticism is very welcome because even someone who has never taken a photo knows a good shot from a bad one just like fat, old, ugly men (kinda like me) know that Shakira and Jessica Simpson are super hot and Rosie O'Donnell is not no B.A. required.
So a hearty thanks to you my friend for laying it out for me here.

A true critique....1) This shots' composition and subject is gorgeous. 2)The DOF is great. 3)The use of the cloning stamp on the pine tree on the right is obvious and distracting (in the future change the area the stamp uses for cloning several times and you'll avoid that repetitious look) 4) I think you may have over tweeked the image with the 'shadow and highlight' in PS.
I'm giving you the kind of critique I long for from others, I hope you will accept it in the spirit in which it was intended.

You know Jason, I think you hit the nail right on the head. My shots prior to the last few have lacked people. I think that might just be what has been missing from my work. I treasure your critique and am in your debt for lighting the little bulb above my head.
Thanks brother!
Sal
P.S. Half the people at the end of the dock on my previous shot are Canadian (Scarborough-ians)

Very nice details and the blue aura aroung the sun is impressive, but I might have cropped out the cliff on the left....its a bit distracting.

Thanks for your comment Ian, but I think I might have gone "a bit crazy with the Cheese Wiz"(Focus magic) on this shot. It was far to soft and I may have over compensated.

You are right. The exosure was long and I was steadying the camera against another part of the mechanism. It looked alright in PS, but it is a bit over-sharpened looking here. I think a shot like this is all but worthless unless it's tack sharp. I appreciate your frank criticism.
