It's not my first time using photoshop, but "photoshop brushes"...and I'm not 100% sure what JPEG compression is? I mean, I would suppose it downsizing the file, and the image in result becomes pixelated?
And no, it's not your imagination, those are wings... =)~ So yes, my coarse back is intentional...I orignally downloaded the wing brush to use for a friend who wanted me to make her doggies look like angels, and figured I'd test em out on me first...

Roger, the weirdness in the back, is indeed my "brush wings"..ha ha that sounds corny...Thinking maybe I should add another layer so it fades out evenly in that area?

Great work! I love all of your night-shots of Brasilia, beautiful! I've always wanted to take night shots of Brasilia, but never wanted to take out my Nikon at night... I do have a few shots of of the "balloon" at SQS 116..
Anyhow, you have a wonderful talent at capturing the beauty of Brasilia's Monuments....

wonderful... I love chihuly's work! For a long time the Atlanta Botanical Gardens had his work on display, but they just took it down this week...it was goreguos at night..

I agree the dark line in the background is indeed very distracting, and something I normally would have taken care of...
This was a spur of the moment shot as my daughter was waiting for me by the front door....I was trying to stay away from heavy manipulations of the image,since it was just an everyday photo of my daughter, and also something I had not planned to post... but now after seeing the black line erased out, I agree, it looks way better...and I certainly enjoy any critique you have to offer! =)

I agree with you about the clarity... orginally the eye was WAY to sharp, so I tried to soften it down a bit since it looked very "pixelated" for some reason, must have been the blue contacts...
But as I was looking at the picture a few seconds ago, I realized I probably shouldn't have tampered with it at all...

Actually Don I didn't...Now looking at the picture, I can sorta see what you mean though....The only real editing done to the picture was the added "blushiness" to the cheeks and brightening of the eyes, which could maybe give it that eye line look =)
