ciao grande.

It's a fossil, the old floor of a street in Selinunte, Sicily, where old temples still live. The shell, as a fossil, is one thing with the stone, so we see the pattern on both. Original shot in B/W, scanned + PS for sepia tone.
thanks

Hi, thanks.
Ippo is from Greek word for : horse.
The paper-animals on the background are one horse with wings and one kind of prehistoric horse ( pterodattylus? ), to symbolyze all wishes to fly out from reality.

very few exibitions, and poor, useless, here, as everiwhere surely, one must be inside the academic-political system to have visitors.

PERSONA is : mask, or not? mask as what we are inside, so you see yourself at many ages, all in one? did I understand?. If so, I like very much.
If not, I like it the same, everyone finds something in a picture.

This shot goes around a subject, spreading light shadows, shapes on emulsion, the emotion, or the life of the subject, all one with photographer's emotion and life. It seems to go around a greek temple. Same vision I have when I am nearour temples in Sicily : below the columns, between them, eyes up, to breath the same air of old men.

Lomo or not Lomo: the same effect can be obtained by a manual reflex, open flash, long time of exposure, coloured jelly on the flash, ecc. Lomo is a toy for fun in making photos. thanks

Hi my friend, how are you?
I write to know if you agree in that :
do you want give me some help on my site palermopresente.com? I would like you
write your comments, if you want, when you want, on images shown on
palermopresente : if there are images that stimulate your excellent critic
soul.
I read your comments to many photos on usefilm, and I see that these comments
are great.
That should be a new and important work on the site.
If you want. If you do, you have only to read the images of palermopresente,
mine and by other photographers, and to write what you feel. if you feel
something, if there are images you like, images that "talk" to you, and so to
comment them by mail to me.
I'll put your comments on the site ( a new page : comments by Emily Savva)
I think it will be good .
tell me.
thanks anyway.

superia is the best for this shots, I think. unusual point of view, my favourite, is the mirror of your seeing way : eye on the reality, shapes changed in mind. one world, the eye of the mind. Naturally, it needs that everibody, watching this and similar images, yours or of another photographer like you, like me, be able to understand why one cganges the shape of reality. not only to have a different visual approach, but to show what I name " memory blades". kiss.

well done

experiment ok. go on. I think howewer that one must adapt the effect of 35mm film in Holga to the effect one wants to gain, for example, the holes of film, resulting dark, must enter into the composition to have a real meaning, not only a casual effect. I hope to see more shot from you like it.
after, colors : why don't you use cross processing from slide film into C41? You will be surprise by results.

the light on background is a real spot, the white light, which seems a moving lighter, is really a piece of paper glued on backgrond, in shape of smoke, blurred by out-focusing. Great work to glue the paper in right position in front of lens.

Solitude, alienation from city in which we often are alone, although in the crowd, and we are islands drifting in caos of minds, dreams, words.
The hour and minutes written remind that it's too late for all, run run run. and you stop the time, you kill the time, you break watches by one shot.
Slow and cold rhithm of these images remind the run of life, struggles the hurry, as for a bladerunner.
