nice one Michael. i've got a very similar shot from Alaska lying around somewhere. in addition to Dylan's point which i agree with, i'd say that getting a tad closer to the subject might be another option, vs. framing more of the ground. i think doing this, while leaving the abundance of sky might go along with the title and project. and thanks for your recent comment on my photo. cheers,
todd

Thank you so much for your comment Dylan. Finally some criticism. Instead of "good shot" or "excellent composition" you took the time out to tell me what could be better about the shot. Don't get me wrong, I like praise but if all you hear is good job then you'll never get better.

In a way I like the framing, and in a way I don't. If the sky was more dramatic/intersting then I would keep this shot, but as it is now the ground is the best part, not the sky.

A simple, interesting, creative idea. Lines and form dominate. The dark area at lower right obscures distracting detail. There is a hint of magenta in the clouds, suggesting maybe a tad of over-saturation. Nicely done.

My only suggestion would be to back up a bit and include the lettering on the left side of the monument...or move in and eliminate the right side too..

No Michael. There was a boat with two people in it and they were fishing under I-10 near Lafayette, Lousiana.

Nice use of light. I like that the pieces fade into the top of the image. I'm a little distracted by some light right at the upper edge toward the right side -- I might clone that out. Great image, though. -- Naomi

I like that the light fades with the right side being darker. I think if you lightened it much more you'd begin to lose details in the clouds on the left. Beautiful tones. Nice image in B&W. -- Naomi

And it looks like you got a little visitor on the bench back too! I love the light on the golden pine wood - it's so warm and restful just as the seat is meant to be.
