Beautiful. There's still some light back scattering into the shadow areas that reduces the contrast but overall it creates a pleasant "pastel" effect. Did you consider boosting contrast to darken the shadow areas? (It's beautiful as it is, so this is not an implied criticism, just a simple question!)

Ian this image has always been special to me ever since I saw it hung in your first exhibition at Elgin library. More than any other of your images this was the one that inspired me to get back into photography in general and landscape photography in particular so a big thank you is in order. I’ve often looked at it and wondered why this image above any other and I always come back to the texture of the rock slab combined with the quality of the light reflected on to it.
