I had one light only and I used a bunch of seamless to try to cut down on shadows. He was tough to capture, as he would make a break for furniture at every oppurtunity.

I believe this is a wandering spider... they are reported to be the most venomous spiders in the new world... be careful getting that close. Maybe get a longer lens. Great shot.

sorry...the stripe was flourescent lights in the classroom... I would've brought lights if I knew the gator was there.

I was that close... it was macro, this animal is used to people...

about as far as it looks... the gator is used to people... his mouth was taped shut for safety...

Extension tubes allow me to get much closer and they don't cost as much as an actual macro lens (though I think a macro lens would prove more useful).

Thanks for your comment... The only reason I posted it was the composition... it seemed quite lucky.

They are chocolate dipped strawberries... you can taste them by visiting berryfactory.com (and by purchasing a dozen, of course). Thanks for your comment.

It is my understanding that this is a male... probably recently ejected from the hive. They don't visit flowers but wait for the queen to go on her mating flight... then the other females won't allow him back in.

It's funny, but it seems that insects frequently stay "tied" together for long periods of time. Maybe it makes up for living for just a week. Nice macro.

Lovely. I also like when the photographer is also part of the photo... How was the lens custom? Was it customized to capture reflections specifically?

Herpes zoster? Shingles? Is this a photograph taken on break due to second stage chicken pocks? I did that. Didn't have a photo as nice as that, though.

Nice perspective... if you get a better collection of clouds (using the building as a frame), you could have a wonderful photograph.

If there was one more blaring sign somewhere on the right (like Niketown) I think I would join the peace corps. The intent of this photo is clear, which makes it so appealing.

Wonderful... When so many elements come together, being the color and the petals collecting towards the bottom of the frame, it makes me want to go run around looking for such a happenstance.

Paper wasp? I would be interested in seeing a frontal view... they have unique faces (meaning that an individual has a different face than another one in it's species)... The extension tube is used to its full potential here... the depth of field is terrific. It suffers whenever I use mine. Nice photo.

It's funny that our photos (posted within minutes of eachother) are so similar. I would suggest that you should make certain that the film plane isn't at a bias to the subject so the symmetry is in full effect.

Functions? The d70 is quite new to me... it behaves in a similar way to my f100. It is wonderful. I am used to film and this camera makes sense to me. It is user friendly and the files are gigantic. I don't forsee buying a replacement for a long time.

The camera was a point and shoot and it was zoomed to 115... the whole roll had the same effect.
