Thank you Justin.. was not long ago at all that I called myself an amateur - and i still, very firmly do.

I am always in awe of the amount of talent there is on UF - and I hope to learn all I can from talented artists such as yourself.

Whilst I appereciate all feedback (especially when I can learn from it) it is really great to get positive feedback about some of my images - makes me realise that maybe progressing further with this art is not beyond my eventual reach

BTW - love your bio - very inspirational.

Thanks again justin!

Thank you Louise -

I did consider a blur on the BG - and actually started with the mask - but then thought I would just throw it out there for some comments.

Thank you very much for your advice here - I will certainly give that a go - i hadn't actually thought of darkening the bg on this shot... watch this space for an improved version

Great capture! I like how you've framed and presented it. I'm thinking maybe it could be improved with a little more post processing to make the bird stand out from the background. Perhaps blur and slightly darken the water and single out the bird and lighten and sharpen him a bit? This would give a bit more separation than there is.

I don't know how long ago it was that you called toyrself an amateur in your profile, but you are sadly mistaken my friend =) it takes talent to capture something like this, reall.

well done,
Justin

Thsnk you wayne. i took a couple of photos of this scene - but the others missed the dry-wet sand transition - which is what I like about this shot.

thanks for your comment.

Thank you Paolo.

I do like the unpredictability of water - that you can never be certain of just what you have captured until you look at your images.

you can only setup your shot and your lighting - and the rest is up to nature

Thank you Kevin - the sepia tone is actually how it was shot - there are no real edits apart from the crop and frame. Lighting and slightly underdeveloping the shot gave these result - which I am fairly happy with.

thank you for your comments - I have had a look at your portfolio - and there are a few excellent shots - I think "in the sky" and "reflections3" stand out for me at first glance

Thanks again for your comment

Really beautiful especially with the sepia tone. It almost looks like a crater on the moons surfacer. Keep up the good work.
