I think that somewhere between the original and your first posted image would work best as suggested by Roger Williams. I attach such an attempt at a rework. I think it emphasises the first girl well and provides a leading line along the girls into the picture. I'd be inclined to clone out the tree branch intruding into the picture as it compete with the girl for the viewer's interest. Anyway, hope this helps.
