Nice exposure on the snow Melanie. A great perspective and I like the contrasting textures in the snow, timber and bricks. Good details and clarity and a nice tight composition which works well for this shot. A good image. DOn't be afraid to experiemnt with your new camera. It will become less intimidating the more you use it. Have fun.
Thank you for your comment on my Frozen Falls image. It was below freezing that day but what made it even more uncomfortable was the very strong wind making the temps drop down even further. A most uncomfortable photo shoot - painful even as my fingers did get a mild frost bite and were hurting for days but I got the photos I wanted so it was worth the discomfort.
You do very nice work. I shall be back to visit more of your portfolio.

Interesting idea and quite well executed too! Makes for a very effective image... Only one minor observation - the building at the end of the bridge wasn't quite horizontal before you duplicated and flipped this, resulting in a slightly V shaped roofline which gives away the process used to create the image. Even so, it is only slight and is still extremely effective.

Honesty I prefer "clear" pictures, I mean no PS, no filters, but when I saw your picture, I was a little bit curious...

Yeah I really like your version, it is more expressive, I have a similiar version but I thought I would post the more realistic one, ie the one that really came out of my camera, but as i said this version is very powerful!

Melanie - good first shot, but I agree with Eric on his crop suggestion - less on the right side of the shot and more on the left. Peter Daniels takes super flower shots and macros and his advice is really good - especially about the lighting on this one. His suggestions have helped me so much on camera settings, etc. You have a very nice portfolio and are getting out there and trying all different kinds of shots. I need to take a lesson out of your book and do the same thing. That's how we learn, and this is the site where you can get all sorts of helpful suggestions. Jan

un colore che si satura man mano e la sua saturazione massima coincide con il punto di fuga
bellissime le geometrie che con la gradazione del colore danno spazio alla foto
creano spazio nella foto
