Janet - Thank you for your kind words RE a recent post of mine. The "peer-reviewed" "batting practice" and "taste testing" that UF offers (feedback pro and con) is so cool. Thankfully your comment reminded me to comment on this image that, because of its uniqueness, I intended to when you posted it. Unfortunately, I got distracted and then forgot.

I really like the originality of this sharp, striking, and well composed shot. Everyone has seen impressive shots of fireworks alone in the sky, over water, or above famous landmarks. But I don't ever recall seeing one like this with a "front yard obstruction" intentionally composed into the shot. I think this is a clever shot and a good lesson to me.

i really like your composition here with the different layers of color and texture, the small stream leading up to the lake, the cold dark sky,...outstanding scenery. thanks for providing a working stiff behind a laptop wonderful glimpses of autumn in Banff! you are encouraging me to soon make a return visit there!

i am enjoying your work! thanks for braving the cold.

p.s. the rocks in lower left appear to be held back by eroson control "fencing"...maybe just my eyes...if so, might be a bit more "unspoiled by man" if cropped out.

Nice shot.

This reminds me of the book "The Deep End of the Ocean"...the photographer mother takes a fall trip to a cemetery in Peshtigo, Wis with her son to take pictures...its an important trip for them both.

Nice perspective...your shot here and, in my opinion, any trip to a cemetery.

i like the cropping/framing. to me, the effect you applied here makes this appear like charcoal on cloth or textile. this effect removes some detail, but i found that caused me to study the image longer. interesting.
