Really nice angle and use of lighting. You really nailed the image using just the essential lines of the guitar, nothing more. The overlaid "string" shadows are a nice touch.

cheers, -mm

composition is good, but seems too soft, Nicole. i think you need to either have a wrinkled backdrop of a pressed one. the fold lines are distracting. pull your subject away from that background and put more light on it. that should help the model pop right out because of the separation.

While I like the alluring view in the lower drape of the other two, I think her most flattering look is this shot, Nicole.

Nicole,

This is a very interesting series. All three photographs remind me a lot of the early (1920's, Mary Pickford) Hollywood photography, with its hot light sources and high contrast, coupled with softness introduced by lenses that were in use at that time.

I like these photos a lot, keep it up!

D.

P.S. There was an album published recently of Mary Pickford's stills, you might want to take a look at it.

Hi Nicole, It is always easier to boss someone else around - I am now in the process of getting focused myself, so good luck to both of us.

Looks like an excellent place to find some good scenic shots.

I like the colors and composition. I wish the photo was larger, so I could see it better.

looks to be a lovely shot...as for a slide scan. i don't have a scanner, so i don't know for sure. i would probably opt to just bring it to a professional lab and have it scanned...can't cost much per slide.

Great position indeed! I like the look in her eyes, like she can jump up any moment to scare someone or something like that. I agree with Martin that more cropping is better. It focuses more on the model and makes her look stronger.
Further.. great lighting and B&w!

nicole,

I cropped it pretty hard, but not much else? I think the Rembrandt Triangle under the left eye is 2nd to none. Not to mention the triangles regarding the arms. Your lighting on the triangle is awesome and the pose is wonderful?

What scanner are you using, as I have a Konica Minolta. So I may not be able to help, but I'll try...

Oh Nicole - I like this too. Will have to give that a try with my camera. Was just reading about this very technique in a photo mag. Love the colors and I agree with Angelo - I would have like to have seen a larger version. Jan
