The tripod was one of those cheap ones for small lenses.....Where it bent was on the top! The floppy head. I couldn't get it tight enough to hold it steady or alone, as I about had a heart attack when the lens went thunk...to the side! Pat

Beautiful image Pat! You bent your tripod!!! Incredible! And yes, it is heavy! It is quite a job to reach over and lug it to the car window and plop it on the bean bag, I get a little (well o.k. maybe a lot) sore when I do that but most of the time I set it up and kind of stay in the same spot for a while! Wonderful shot, these guys are big! Can't wait to see them and meet you! Darlene

Ron, Don't be afraid of the 100-400 it is a breeze compared to the 600. Do you have the image stablization on it? It is a great lens. I'm just trying out the 600 and not sure I like it at all. I love the way Darlene Boucher uses hers but for me I think it is just too bulky, the wildlife are gone by the time I set it up....well most of the time. Pat

Yes it is washed out. Keep working at it and I'm sure that lens will be 2nd nature soon enough. I recently purchased the 100x400 zoom , found it heavy and intimidating too. I haven't even attached it to my Rebel XT. I'm scared to.

WOW PAT!!!!!!!! I Love this Shot....Those have to be my Favorite US Mountains of all time. The Alps are the only other one I have seen in person that can even compare with the Tetons.
You did a Perfect job with this shot my friend. Well done!
Best Regards

Sam III
