I must have rubbed off on you a little - your vocabulary's way down at my level now

I would be tempted to adjust the levels in this shot - a lot of the tones are very similar with few areas of very light or dark tones - or perhaps a little more contrast.
Stanley looks like a real character!

Nice detail in his face, sharp and contrasty - is he being lit through the sunroof?

Skillful and simple B&W shot!

No but I did capture the mood, the life of the moment, didn't I?

To take alive - to catch, to capture.
You didn't kidnap those cute little doggies did you?

I can't imagine you'd ever be stuck for words!

Not at all - you drove the point home suitably =) Often when inclined to leave a comment I realise what needs to be said has and being relatively untrained am of the opinion criticism should be the envoy of the skilled ones.

I'm glad you have a digital camera too - I thought you might be a bit of a film fan and take insult at my use of PS on you photo with the uniformed men!
Have you tried leaving comments on other peoples photos - more often than not, they will return the favour and leave a comment for you too - sometimes you even get useful ones!

Your enlightening exegesis is received with pleasure Sally. Your rendition legislates greater ęstheticism than I thought possible - yet another testimony to the evolutionary refinement of talent which more fruitfully yields itself to the better experienced among us. The title I thought suitable =).

Inhospitable port?
Your titles are too clever for me!
I like the contrast, and the way the three men nearest the camera decrease in size evenly. In fact, I think it would have made a stronger composition if you'd concentrated soley on them (I know that's not easy on the spur of the moment), i.e. shifted the camera a little to the left so as to capture the coat tails of the guy on the left and miss out the black silhouetted arm of the man in the foreground on the right.
I've included a picture to illustrate (I don't have your way with words).

Like this portrait very much, and your cat is great model or has just woke up. Regards

You have one cute subject there!
There's a lovely range of tones going on in its coat - I reckon you should shout 'mice' loudly before pressing the shutter - I'd like to see that face.
