Jim, the lens was simply held in place against the body. It's a way of emulating a macro lens - obviously without any control over aperture. Just be prepared to clean your sensor regularly if you plan on doing this a bit.

Personally I think this is one of your best photos Mon. Even though you know my stance on the subject of the photo, it is still an exceptional shot.

Great shot Francisco - excellent use of a wide angle lens to accentuate the diver's feet, great sharpness throughout the entire image.

Cheers mate! I was on the tray of a ute parked on top of a hill above the banana plantation. It was just high enough that we were elevated above his spraying runs.

Cheers Dave - yeah, I was happy to capture the vortices in the spray from the prop wash and wing disturbance. Thought it was a nice effect.

Appreciate your comments.

Nice. It's a nice playground to have but-a-short-drive away.

Oh, and damn you for beating me to the aerial shots! :P

Great shot Pete - flash was probably a little too strong but as a diver I really dig where you're coming from. Have you seen how quickly these fellas can swim? When we went out fishing at Sudbury Reef we saw a couple scoot past our boat at serious pace!

Yep, sure is paradise huh Pete? It's nice having it sitting there for the taking any day I want. We're hopefully going flying out over the reef on Saturday, so fingers crossed I'll have some nice aerial shots for ya next week. :)

Thanks Antonia, I agree, I would've shot it a little more vertical, but it wasn't until I got back to Aus from Thailand that I got to see the photo on a larger screen than the 20D offers to realise my error.

Intense portrait, your model has incredible eyes and the way her hair is falling across her face accentuates that fact. Reminds me a little of the girl with the blue eyes from National Geographic - similar sort of intensity lurking within that gaze. Well captured. Nice lighting, good DOF and excellent focus. The catchlights are a nice touch, too.

Thanks Kaeleigh - many hours of chewing gum have gone into that jawline. Hehehe.

Casual - and fairly rushed - was a 2 minute special, 3 shots on the tripod. Was just reasonably happy with the outcome.

Thanks Samer. It doesn't really do the place justice - it's the most beautiful bay I've ever laid eyes on.

"This guy was trying to grab the attention of a young chic at Manly Beach. "

It's a shame the only thing about roller blading is telling your parents that you're gay... ;)

Good timing and well caught, though it would've looked a little better in my opinion if you'd had more of the ramp in the shot.

Thanks Geoff.

The reflection is actually me! It was a very hot day, and the eagle was resting, trying to stay cool, completely unfussed about my presence standing only about 2 metres away from it!
