i agree..the blur and sepia works so well here...the background curves are a little distracting...blur some more! she's pretty too...

I like the isolation of the lil woman's face by way of blurring. Nice shot. Sam

Sweet capture. A little soft but adorable nontheless.

This is a delightful image. It was a difficult lighting situation and you did well to record the spontaneity of this game. Excellent capture.

Cheers!

I really Like this shot the colors you changed have given this photo a very charming aspect.
although the purple above the glasses is a little distracting.

I liked this group. It looks as if the kids were really enjoying themselves and the picture is unposed looking and a nice moment in time.

Cheers!

Beautiful portrait and beautiful model. The only thing I "like less" is maybe, in my opinion, a slightly blueish colour cast (more evident in her hair) due probably to the cold light shed by a window near the girl.

Beautiful photo - adorable subject. Love what you've done with the colors and overall look of this image. Any plug-ins used? "Overdoing" an image is so easy in Photoshop - you really nailed it here. Nice work!

Thanx for the comments, Hans. Yeah, the tower in the picture kind of offsets the whole balance but being that it is Toronto's cityscape landmark, wiping it out in Photoshop would be like wiping out Mona Lisa's smile...hehe. Ciao.

Straight from blade runner or any other epic Sci Fi movie. I really love the balance and the contrast in your image. Maybe the tower in the background shouldn't be there, but its not a big issue. Really love your picture. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the suggestion, Joe. Guess I cropped and re-cropped this so much I was afraid it would turn out wallet size...hehe. Here's a square version.

i'm biased, so take this with a grain of salt---i think this would be a great square picture. at least take some off the right. nice shot-great looking kid

Because he's wearing the sunglasses I don't immediately relate him to the arena (as I would if he were wearing obviously athletic gear like a football jersey). Based on the title I expected that he was an athlete mentally preparing before the game--expression is perfect for this. I would try adjusting the sepia to a deep brown tone. Superb composition.

I like how the lines of the background draw the viewer's eye back to his face. However the offset vignetting is distracting. Was your lens hood screwed on completely? You could effectively crop the (camera) left margin. The upper right vignetting is not so noticeable, but it is there to stay.
He has an interesting face, and I would have liked a little closer view, at the expense of some of the background.
