Hi Roberto

What a wonderful scene.

I've just come back from Italy. We flew into Milan, and drove to Venice, where we based ourselves for a few days. The Dolomites were fantastic. We then went on to Florence, where we did some nice day trips in the surrounding area. Cinque Terre was amazing!

I can't wait to come back.....hopefully in September this year!

Take care!

Cheers

Hi Dan

A fantastic night image.

There is only one thing that I find a little distracting. There appears to be a small white dot just to the right of the red line at the top of the tall building on the left-hand side. With that cloned out, it would be perfect!

Cheers

Hey, Laura....this is a nice B&W image. The person with the umbrella really adds interest to the image. Nicely composed!

Cheers

Hi David

I just love this image! However....I feel you can get a bit more out of it! I've re-worked it...you can see the results below.

This is what I did to it.

I skewed it slightly in the top right-hand corner...to straighten the vertical far right girder. I then slightly skewed the bottom left-hand corner of the image to straighten up the vertical girder closest to the left of the image. I then clicked on 'Transform' and went to the bottom of the image and dragged it down a fraction to remove the water in the bottom left and bottom middle of the image. I then completely cloned out all of the white specs in the image. I then removed the cyan colour from the light, and from its reflection. I then went to the top of the image and lassoed the area above the bridge and removed the noise from the sky above the bridge. Finally, I upped the contrast by 15.

I hope you don't mind but, IMHO, I feel it looks a little better.

Once again, IMO, this is fine image! Well spotted, and captured!

Cheers

Hi Paolo

A simple but striking scene! Nice tones. I prefer the colour version to the B&W. Nice one, Mate!

Hey, Dave!

This is one of the best Iris images that I've seen. The colours are so rich, and the image is nice and sharp.

Well captured, Mate!

Cheers

Hi Anthony

I'm flattered by your comments, however, I just regard myself as an average photographer, with a lot to learn. :)

Thanks, again!

Hi Anthony

You have some great images in your portfolio!

I like this image....the angle at which you've captured the buildings gives a real feeling of depth and perspective.

Nice tones!

Cheers

Hey, Riny!

We were so fortunate to have been there during this period. Apparently, it had been 10 years since the canals were frozen over like this. Everywhere we went the canals were frozen, and there the skaters were out in force, complete with picnic tables, food, and drinks! It was a great experience for us Aussies to witness!

You live in a fantastic country. The people are so friendly, the scenery is stunning, and the infrastructure is astounding. I can't wait to come back next April, to capture the tulip fields. :)

Cheers

Hi Avi

Thanks for taking the time to comment, and offer your opinion.

I have to state that I have a different opinion to you. I spent some time working out the best way to crop this image. I feel the way I did it provides a little more perspective to the image.

The colour version is in my portfolio....going by your comment, you like it.

Yes, you've had terrible weather up your way! At least it's filled the dams up! :)

I just don't have the time to sit and comment on photos....we've been very busy in our business, and with running the teenagers' taxi service, and coping with everything else associated with having two of them! :)

Have a look on page 10 & 11 of this link. :)
