Hello Bill, I followed you here from your post in the Philosophy forum regarding critiques.

This thumbnail caught my eye-initially because of the intense range of color but also because of the word 'cranberry'. I imagine this is less than 25 or 30 minutes from my house, as I've seen these monsters at work.

As you have stated above and in the forum post-"it is what it is", I like that attitude and I like this picture.

I'd also like to thank you for adding the NORTH AMERICAN DIV. to your 'about' section. Sometimes we are so diverse here it's nice to get a slice of homemade pie (especially when it's this close).

I will also consider your comment on being brutal with one's self. I confess I post in haste and out of laziness because I "have to put up a picture". I will re-think that poor attitude (as you pointed out it is the attitude of a loser...) and get out the pruning shears. I believe it is time. In fact, just last night I dropped three shots that just plain sucked and had no business wasting bandwidth here. I know in my heart there are others.

I am interested in learning and I am glad I happened to across your path. I'm not into 'artsy' stuff-anything anyone puts a title on and hangs on the wall and thinks that's justification enough-but prefer what would be more of a traditional line of thought on my photography. Not stale, but proven so to speak. I am book taught except for a class I had in seventh grade (1975)on B&W darkroom and photography. My first camera was an Argus rangefinder with a pop out lens (and a broken rangefinder at that...). I now shoot digital but spent most of my years using a Canon AE-1.

Well, if you ever get bored or have some time to burn stop by my portfolio and give it a few whacks if you like. I'd appreciate it.

I'm not sure if you will ever come across this, but I hope so.

Take care and thanks for the challenge,

Anthony Gargani
