Nice shot, too bad about the lady's head in the foreground, although it does give the photo some depth. Dottie

When you're in band, you have to get ready for the unexpected. It's just the fact of band. Plus, I usually don't go anywhere without my camera. I take it to school even cause something funny always happens.

They probably wouldn't mind the attention, but they will be scattered throughout all of Virginia when they go off to college. . . that's the only problem. . .

Amy, great action shot, if you're not graduating this year, I'm sure the team woon't mind if you show up & shoot! Nicely done. Dottie

Wonderful shot, love the looks on their faces. My son Brad ran for Albemarle, he graduated in 1999, my younger son in 2000. Go Patriots! Dottie

Thank you for you comments. I hope to continue working in the field. I'm not quite sure how many more action pictures I'm going to get because my brother is graduating this year, so I won't have the guys to use as my basis for the photo. I hope to continue though. I hope you'll also check out some of my other work.

Wow, Amy, this is a great picture. The depth of field is great and the focus is right on, the action and his emotion really come out in this photograph. This is a great sports journalism image. Looking through the rest of your portfolio I would say you could be something of a photographer (you have the young part going for you, too, more options than us old birds). Keep up the good work!

Once i run,and one's of my favourites was cross-country,despite the track......
This picture makes me to came back in the time....i see in their faces the tension before the start...and few time after each runner is alone with his thought and pushes to the max!!!!!!
Love this shot, touch me very much!!!!!

Wonderful relaxed portrait. I like that his hands are in his pockets, but I would have either cut it lower, or cropped it in tighter. Still a really nice pic of a good looking kid. Dottie

Amy, nice stop action shot, good focus on the subject with blurred background. I'd like to have kept his feet in it since he's a runner, heehee... but nice action shot anyway! Dottie

MUCH better Amy! IT could be cropped Tighter, My friend Dottie and I will help you transition from Snap shot photographer to Artist! Eventually when you get PS you can apply a motion blurr which would add a lot!
