Thank you very much for the kind words, Mahamed! No, all filtering was applied in post processing in photoshop. I added and ambient filter which also softens a bit and then a gausian blur and slight darkening around the outside border.

Mike, thank you for the thoughtful response. This was taken in my studio, so without flash, there would have been no image at all. As for bracketing...My camera DOES have that option, but I set my exposure ahead of time with my studio strobes for proper exposure. I had a medium sized soft box as the key light and used a barn-door strobe about 10 feet above his head as a highlight.

love it...very dreamy feeling effect. the colors and lighting are perfect. I might have cloned out that bird/debris that's flying through the sky. but that's a small thing. nice shot!

wow...how do i critique this??? I'll start with the good (and it's really ALL good)...the colors are amazing. your timing on this...impecable. i suppose if i MUST nit pick on something (which is what this area is for i suppose), i would say, i might have used a bit smaller of an apperture as to get the whole 'ring' in focus...but DOF is really artistic license and personal preference. Very well done!

thank you guys for the taking the time. I really like the crop, Pat, however, the sharpening to me looks a bet over sharp now. Maybe somewhere in the middle might be best. I really appreciate the effort in showing what you meant. Thanks a bunch!

Very pretty. Great job at maintaing a deep blue sky and a perfectly exposed foreground. Did you use a filter on this?
