Pallab, thanks for commenting. I did not use and converters as they would not help, I do some times use extension tubes with my 400 to get closer but not in this case, I was about 12' away and cropped the image so it looks close, I will attach one of the orig uncropped images.

Beautiful capture Dave, you got her in a very nice pose, with an attractive BG and if there were lots more oranges she would be really camouflaged as the colors match so well.

Beautiful capture Dan, Looks great to me and I love the background patterns, some times a slight fill flash is the only way I can get the dark parts of a dark bird to expose and still keep that beautiful BG.
