Superb, Roland. Real life gritty; and a hint of humor with the cats (?). The framing square is a great prop for a working man.

Congratulations on your monochromatic presentation here Roland! (I shot Bryce Canyon a few years ago in b&w 120mm and got "boo-ed of stage"! LOL)Very special place seldom seen like this. Great show of light, shadows and curves. -john

Hi Roland, this is a fantasic work of light and shadow in B&W! Well done! I've seen several shots of this area on UF, and in fact it is what I had in mind to emulate when I shot my last post. At the very least, I've got to find some prettier rock! :)
All the best,
Kes

Great shot, some people would say that this is too contrasty, but I like the sharp details and vivid contrast. This is a grainy picture.
Let me see, to grainy, very contrasty and probably oversharpened. I like it!

amazing! no matter what the color of the sky or the
sand is,looking at the perspective you chose, the standing of both the rocks and the dead tree suggests the beauty of this wild scenery.
Cool choice for b&w.

Yeah, the scraggy tree in the foreground provides the perfect balance to the massive rock, Roland.

such a nice natural tones,
Just you were smart enough to capture them.
A very smooth and a bit disordered rhythm of light and shadows on those fantastic tracks.

very bravo,

You've definitely achieved the mysterious look in this one. I like the way the road seems to end almost into complete nothingness. There's a massive contrast in the fine detail of the foreground road compared to the silhoutte mountaincape in the background, and it's almost as if this frame was composed of two totally seperate shots. Very mysterious - almost spooky :)
Best regards,
Niclas
