It looks like you got good exposure on her right cheek at the expense of slight underexposure on her left cheek. I still like it, and the close crop and composition work so well!

She asked for mommy's help (to put the skirt and headress on), but mostly it was her own doing...

I don't know...maybe it's because we moved to a new house that has all these north and west-facing windows..? I'm getting generous soft northern winter light in my living room and dining room and very little southern light for these shots. At least I've got one good reason for liking the new place...

I guess I actually like being able to make out the croc. Cooly dramatic shot!

Cool composition! Only you could make eating macaroni into an artistic vision..

That "effect" is actually the edge of the sliding glass door. I too thought it looked like--and made--a nice edge effect! Thanks for your comments..

Oh, I see it now. It's because she has that dark armband on..! Anyway, converted to grayscale then duotone, then futzed around with levels, curves, and the "secret weapon" on this....was when I went into the Shadow/Hightlight adjustment in CS2 because it gave me some good tonal separation. Please let me know how unhelpful that description was!..

Nice of you to make an appearance!.. A dreamy and romantic image via perfect execution of a lensbaby..

I really like the close juxtapositioning of their faces. I suppose I agree with some others about the crop being a bit tight, but it's still a wonderful family portrait to have captured..!

Just enough visual information to create an interesting story, but not too much information so as to retain some mystery. Wonderful composition too..

B&W tree shots are not always popular at this site (I should know), but I find this one particularly nice! Good eye..

So you're taking pictures of your daughter in your living room too I see!.. I like the composition of her and the blurred objects and the amount of light getting to her face. Really nice B&W!

Nicely intriguing (due to the expert composition and use of shallow DOF)..
