Given the available light (or apparent lack thereof), this is an excellent shot. I've read most of the comments thus far and am wondering what to add. I agree that the complimentary blue and orange really give this shot a "leg up" insofar as they really help the eye to discern the contrast. The "spot" lights add a touch of life and the hazy areas do fit with the industrial nature of the scene. I don't think that Coffey's BW is an improvement, as there isn't enough contrast in light to discern the elements of the structures -- it is muddy. The color version is far better. I like the diagonal in your composition (top left to bottom right). As I study the shot I find myself wishing there could have been a bit more illumination or brightness, but my guess is that if you were to push that in PS, the quality of the image might begin to degrade.

It would be interesting to know the history behind this beautiful structure. I like very much the angle of attack for your perspective. You used your imagination to capture the imagination of its creators and if they are watching from afar, they will be smiling on you. It is nice to meet you too.

Beautiful portrait. The tones and soft sepia are wonderful. The girls expressions make it.

Very sweet. Lovely color and detail. It is almost as if they are holding hands. In hug fits just right.

The perspective is fantastic. Were you on your stomach? The DOF is amazing. Also, I like the slight distortion on the dog -- this has so much character.

The light in this is very dramatic, and I like the focus in the DOF on the children. Did you leave the horizon off vertical intentionally? This is a dynamic image. Antonia

Amazing structure and juxtaposition with modern building. Great perspective, and the inclusion of the girl adds to the interest and composition.

Excellent portrait. He is posing quite nicely. The light is very nice here, resulting in your capturing lovely color and detail, especially in his eyes.

Love it. It is nice to know that you can capture this much detail in the moon with this lens. Very nice.

Magnificent sunset. It is silky and serene and has a lovely complexity at the same time. The color is spectacular. I really like the touch with the two shots of the sun slipping below the horizon.

Exquisite. Love shooting in RAW and messing with it like a stretchy rubberband in the digital darkroom. You've got it down to a science with beautiful results.

Enjoy the feel of this -- it fits the old barn feel. Carsten, you have no idea what a huge role you have played in my photography. From your wonderful explanations I learned so much. So often when I am out in the field I am remembering and thinking, "remember what Carsten has taught you." Thanks friend. Antonia

Your images seem to draw me back in time to my childhood -- they have a 50's feel (oops that gives to much away lol) At any rate, there is a simple homeyness, along with an offbeat feeling about your style that I find very appealing. You have a great eye for this. Antonia

I like the fantasy in this. The movement from total darkness into the rich colors surrounding the window and then the bright blue sky with a bright white cloud is captivating.

Gorgeous shot, and enjoyed reading your "about." This is such a serene landscape, I'd be tempted to place it in the "serenity" project, even after reading the explanation as to why it fits into patterns. But I could be wrong :) Congrats on a beautiful capture -- it is exquisite.

That is a dizzyingly beautiful cloudscape. This makes a lovely portrait -- simple, and powerful all at once. Very nice composition.

Hi Nicole, nice to see you again. Beautiful capture of the falls -- like a bridal veil (I think there are actually falls by that name in Yosemite). While you could clone out the greenish blue spot, I rather prefer cropping just below it, as it makes for a very appealing composition and aspect ratio -- slightly preferable to the narrower version of the original here. At any rate, the spot doesn't add anything, and is a bit distracting, so I'd ditch it somehow. The image is a winner! Antonia

Pan, I love your style. This one is incredible. The depth and richness created by the textures, light and tones is superb. This would be hung in my home (among many others of yours). The words in your profile are so true. The sensitivity in the words you write and images you create tells me that you will are among those that sees and hears much song in what life has to offer, and thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. Great moody sky -- very dramatic. This has a nice range of tones and carries well from a distance. Is it the rain that gives the grainy effect? No matter the reason, I like it.

You saw the magic in this tree with the light in the leaves. Your title is interesting, makes me wonder what it's about. I spend a lot of time looking for great foliage that has this feel, and it is rare to see this much color and light in the leaves. You have a very interesting style -- clever perspectives. Antonia

Jeff, one more thing, I noticed your comment about the strong directional light being a challenge. This came out lovely under the circumstances. Are you shooting in RAW? I've found that it helps a lot in post processing as the exposure has so much more flexibility.
