perfect tones and color. I like the texture of this shot too. While I like/understand the title, the horse in the front is a little distracting for me but then I'm so drawn to the pony in the center maybe it's not such a big deal.

megan

Great light and capture..it's not easy during a performance. One thing to keep in mind...watch the feet. People who love ballet are very interested in the positions of the feet, hands, the head and body etc. Because that is what defines a dancer...technically.

megan

Thanks Rik, he was very fun to shoot. He is a natural in front of the camera. Just oozing self confidence. He's also a very talented artists so he knew what he wanted to accomplish and that was something out of the ordinary...lucky for me!

Cool shot...right on the edge! Do you know much about shooting outdoors when it's cold? I live in Wisconsin where it is cold and snowy 5-6 month out of the year. I'm afraid to take my cameras out in the cold but I see so many cool scenes. Any advice?

I really like these horse shots of your. This one is my favorite...not sure why maybe it's the perspective it has. The tones are vry nice. I'm not sure about the frame though...that's just me...not big on frames...it's a phase I'm going through. HeeHeeHee!

Fantastic light you captured here. Took a peek at the rest of your porfolio. You have a very good eye and it seems to wander...heeheehee! But very good shots all of them!

just love this shot and what you've done with it. Her expression is priceless. Thanks for your comments on my shots. The Minnesota Gravel road is one of my new favorites but I couldn't put my finger on the "why" until I read your comment. I think the guy that put a bicyclist in the shot is afraid to be alone.

Thanks Lars...everyone. I agree it could use a little more contrast. My photos all seem to look a little dull after I post them. I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong when I save the jpg or if it's my mac or what. I like what you've done here but her skin tones are getting a little hot...could be my monitor though...

The composition caught my eye. Very well framed. On my monitor an inch or so of the foreground was cropped off...it looked nice like that too. Brought the eye right into the arches.

Incredibly intense photo Piotr. The golden tones with the blackness is what drew me in. Texture and clarity are nothing less than perfect.
You're talent is growing with every shot.

Rene, I'm wondering how you so perfectly lit this shot. It is expertly done. Her skin tones are perfect and yet there is still some detail in the rich blackness of her hair. It's an awesome concept that you have, once again, crafted so perfectly.

Thanks Eddy, I agree, it is not ver sharp. Could be shooting through the windsheild or it could be me. I've noticed my eyes are not what they used to be and I don't know if I have to compensate for that on my camera. I just loved the color of this. It was an unusual morning. If you've ever been through a tonado (which this storm was NOT) the colors are just amazing right before or after and this looks a lot like that. Thanks again.

Bill, I love this shot. She looks like she is just flying yet you've haulted a fraction of a moment for all time.
I read a comment of your on another photo and had to check out your portfolio. I just wanted to tell you that your words in your bio have made an impression on me. The part about being brutally honest about what photos to keep and show. I'm just getting started with portrait photography and shooting digital I tend to shoot a lot. I've been providing too many proofs and they almost always choose shots that I am not entirely happy with. These are the shots they will be showing family and friends. If they are showing mediocre shots, I will be known as a mediocre photographer. Good advice...and will be remembered always.

megan

I like the way this draws me down and in to the shot. With all that darkness it still has an amazing sense of depth to it. Wonderfully done.
