This is a Cranefly not a mosquito. These guys don't bite and the legs fall off very easy. Good clean photo.

This is actually a Hoover Fly. Flies have 2 wings. These guys are pollinators and do not sting.

Nice Lucanid Beetle or Stag Beetle. This is a male and they use their jaws to fend off other males. Would love to add him to my insect collection.

This is the Victorian Crowned Pigeon (Goura victoria) from New Guinea. Looks like an old bird with crooked feet.

Having been an earlier Usefilm guy its nice to see people take the time and look at older but still nice photos. This buck was probably one of those genetically clone deer and not likely a wild whitetail. Some of those 2 year old deer have antlers bigger than normal older bucks.

Its amazing you have many different plants and animals than I have. Some may be close to the same. Whats common here doesn't exist there and visa vera.

Yes Roberto and it wouldn't take much to get it running again. The body is fine glass is good but it does need wheels. Motor should fire right up but might need a little tuning. Probably pick it up for a couple hundred dollars if that.

Yes it was made for aluminum. If you have like 10 apple bins of shavings laying around and you can compress it into 1 that saves a lot of room. I'm sure they don't get much for a bin of recycled aluminum but it helps. You do have to make sure that it is only aluminum and not brass mixed into the smashing otherwise the recycler may reject the batch.

Our whole town is slowly becoming a ghost town. The State run liquor store closed down next to it along with an eatery. The Barber next to him retired but another hair shop opened. Lots of closed business most move 4 miles north to Omak which is growing.

It has a brake and a gearbox so it might be some kind of harvester pulled by a horse. It was very hidden in the sagebrush and you might not know what you might find in a old homesite.

I THINK THIS IS A SOLIDER BEETLE IN THE CANTHERID FAMILY. THEY CAN SECRETE A SUBSTANCE THAT MAY CAUSE A SKIN IRRITANT. SUBSTANCE MAYBE AN APRHODIASIC OR A CURE OF CANCER. THE ISRAEL BLISTER BEETLE. GOOD SHOT.

Ours don't quite get that big but still several pounds. Below Chief Joe Dam there is a bounty on squawfish. Game Dept pays for each fish over 12 inches. They say they prey on salmon smolt and by reducing the native fish they can have more of the hatchery salmon and steelhead return to our streams.

This gas station sits on Highway 20 (North Cascade Highway). Several of these small stores and others have closed down. One of them was Blackies Tavern. Their ad was "Next Tavern 89 miles". Beacuse it sits at the end of highway from the west and the the road is closed in winter so lack of business closed this place and others.
