Heh, when I first saw it i thought it was a lightsaber. I guess I got Star Wars on the brain.
Nice image, though, I like the high-contrast that makes that flame just burn a hole through the computer screen. cool prologue, too.

wow, that's an amazing photograph, Judi! Your sunset makes mine look puny in comparrison, great job in capturing those firy clouds poised so delicately above those serene moving waters. The colors are great, and I love how you didn't have the sun in the shot, but took the photo just after it had dissapeared, and let the clouds do the work.
Thanks so much for your kind words about my images, Judi. It's very encouraging.

I love photos that have that misty atmospheric effect, but this one is particularly good! I love the blue and the detail you can see with the clouds in the top of the frame. I also love the gradient feel this photo has, so that if you scroll down, it looks like the photo is getting darker as it goes up.
Great mood created here, Marian!

Very nice image, Marian!
I especially like the lines in this photo, the way all the lines (the horizon, the mountains, and the pier) all converge on the boat. That's very nice.

Haha, wow, sweet camera there. That was back when cameras were cameras, photographers were photographers, and digital was... not invented yet. Actually, I was born in 1984, I wasn't even born in those days!
But I must say, excellent capture, Doctor! very nice indeed!

...although, I have to agree with your earlier comment that the color version looks more like a sunset than the B&W one, where it's difficult to pin down the time of day.

I like the black and white version almost as much as the color one, just because it adds to the 'ancient' feeling of the Harvard Bookstore, which is what you were going for, right?
I feel as if the bottom quarter of the frame is too bright, though. I think for the building to be that dark looks unnatural without a darker foundation to balance it. I dunno, but that's my first thought, anyway.

wow, very pretty! Once again, you've managed to capture brilliance and make it look even more brilliant. I love the detail you captured with the light glimering off the gems like that.
I agree with Angelo, though, that perhaps the focus should be slightly changed. The Blue gem does seem to be the place where the eye wants to go to, but since it is out of focus, it makes it harder to look at. One other thing that might help would be to light the center gems more, and have the outer gems fade into shadow. That would look really cool.
But great work, and it looks beautiful!

That's really a cool idea, to photograph a reflection upside-down so that the trees look right-side up. For a second I was kind of confused, and then I realized what it was. Very nice tones, and composition is great too. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Andre, I like your title, because I think it really captures a great aspect of the photo. The Harvard Book Shop slowly being covered in shadow... the symbolism is great.
The shot looks great, too. I love the soft, glowy feel that sunset always gives things. I also like the perspective you've chosen.
Good Job!

I do know that song actually, I like a lot of classic rock (my dad's the main reason for that), and although I don't particularly like that song either, I do have it stuck in my head now. Thanks a lot, Ian.
But seriously, thank you for your comment, I am always glad to see someone who will take some time on a photo they like, instead of just saying 'great dof' and moving on, like some people tend to do.
And thank you all for your comments, your encouragement inspires me to keep looking.

Nice tones in this image! The lighting is very dynamic, and looks great. I also like the balance in the image. I think the large black square in the upper right balances with the large group of people on the other side. I'm glad you cloned out the McD's sign, too. Advertising is distracting.
My only one thing I dislike is the blurred figures. I realize that was probably out of your control, but it would have looked great if it were 'frozen' in time.
Eh. That's my honest opinion. Do with it what you please. Great looking photo, by the way, I like it a lot.

Heh! for some reason I didn't think about the way the green in your image really emphasizes life and growth that the rain brings.
I actually grew up in Papua New Guinea (just north of Aussie Land), and the rain there is often very dark and powerful, torrenting buckets with little or no warning, so I think that's more my general feeling about rain, but I love the theme of life, too!
