Kirk, beautiful image! I wish you could take a look at my baby pictures... I could guess the grain is because of digital noise due to low light... regards, RV

the whole mood of this one just oozes quiet reflection (and a well earned break for mum no doubt!) -great , also agree this would work without the grained touch..

Just checked out the photos in your folder. This one is quite special.I think you don't really need the grainy effect. It is quite beautiful as a plain B&W portrait. Maybe a diffuse glow or softening would maybe suit it better, or then again maybe nothing at all. The positions of the subjects are perfect and the lighting and contrast spot on. Both mother and baby are gorgeous and baby is so peacefully sleeping you can't help but enjoy looking at them in such a quiet relaxing mood. Was mum aware of the photo being taken? She looks too relaxed and is not posing at all, which makes it nicer. Anyway, enough rambling from me.....well done!

Very nice! I like the use of light and the position of the subjects relative to each other.
I enjoy the irony of the project "Grainy Film for Effect" being shot with a digital camera.
