Ian, this is gorgeous, wonderfully composed and incredible colors. I love the foreground grasses and how the old building is just nestled in there. To me, the image works, it has a romantic feel to it, and since you werent able to get a razor sharp shot, I would accentuate the softness, perhaps by printing it twice. I have seen this done and the results are fantastic when softness is appropriate for the scene. well done.

Colors are so nice and bright..Great capture here...I like where you placed the building in the composition! But what gets me is the lighting and the colors!

Thanks for the comments. It isn't the scan that's soft, it's the slide. I resorted to handheld when faced with 10 secs of sun, lighting up what looked like a nice scene. Too bad, as the colours and contrast came out nicely.

I lkike the composition. Very well balanced. I differ from the other commentors in that find the colors just a bit oversaturated but that's what makes horse races. The softness however is somewhat evident. Nicely done in general.

Beautifully composed, with exceptional colors. The barn really works in this. I also like how you saved room for the piece of blue sky. The only knock is that the scan appears a bit soft. Otherwise fantastic! (8 ...would be even higher if sharper.
