About I liked the way that the rope was kept orderly and someone had paid attention to it. I tried to keep the tie off in the corner of the frame and lead across the image.

James, very nice composition. I especially like the contrasting textures. I agree with the "softness" comment that could have been the result of the floating dock, being handheld, or the f/stop.

James, its a good shot but it appears that the upper part of the cleat is a bit soft, try using a bit more DOF next time.
