About Inspired by Ina and after a half hour ski up the river I finally got around to taking some shots of this old car on the bank of the Assiniboine River, in the late afternoon light. I have no idea what year or make it is, so if anyone knows I'd love to find out.
Spruced up and cropped in PSP-X.

This is a great shot. I would like to see a spring and summer shot as well and then make a collage of all three. (I have a thing for old, rusty things...)

Great lighting on this. I like the tinge of orange of the late-day sun. Really adds to this.

Best,
Dave

Excellent shot, Dave. It is indeed a different take on the subject than mine. I like it. Good exposure, contrast, and composition. Realy can't tell exact year, but looks to be '34-'38. Thanks for the comments on mine!

A great shot, Dave, and beautifully worked! It seems it belongs there, part of nature already. Love the play of light, so tender, like the sunset of life.

Dave: Looks like a 36 or 37 Ford phaeton. Cool shot. There are street rodders that might like to have this.

Hi Bob, thanks for the comment, but really I wanted to comment on your angel shot, but for some reason the system won't let me. I keep getting an error message just on that one posting. It's a really nice shot with great colours and perspective. If you haven't been getting comments, maybe it's some bug in the site.
Dave.

A scene evocative of bleakness. The pristine snow cover adds to the feeling of abandonment. Nice dabbled light!

Hi Dave,
well seen, well taken.
We call it pollution of the environment...and is very expensive for the owner (fine) to despose in my country...Keep Canada clean!

Well I guess this car isn't going any where soon. I like the glow of the sun on the side of the auto, makes it seem as if there is some hope of one day getting out of there and back on the road. Great capture and lighting.

Hi Dave,
Nice shot of the old relic.
They are a lot of fun to shoot!
I'm thinking it might be a 35 or 36 Ford. Not after 36 because of the headlights. Here is a 36 roadster that shows a few similarities. but not enough of the door to tell for sure.

I like it Dave. Perfect exposure with the snow. Amazing you had to "ski" to your subject. What we do for our photos! Really like the angle you took it as well. Don't think there was room for any other way. Very neat looking old car, too bad. Great catch tho. Marilyn

Wow, awesome shot of this old beauty Dave! Thanks for mentioning me :) I love the snow covered rusty body, it is stunning! The warm afternoon light on the rust and on the snow is awesome! It gives it a metallic glow, unbelievable! I love the broken headlights and the shape - I don't know the model, but if you took Andre Denis's advice you could take a peek inside, and see maybe on the speedometer. Hope to see more of these, Dave! Great capture, Ina

Did you have to wait long for a tow Dave
Some of these old wrecks can be found lying around in the most interesting of situations and this is one of those my friend. How sad that having performed valiantly in it's life that it is discarded but it does make for a great shot. Wonderful details, excellent colour and gorgeous dappled sunlight flicking all around. Well seen and taken Dave....Best wishes to you as always....Ray

Great find!!! I love rusty old things and this is a beauty... looks like an old traction avant/citoėn to me, but I could be waaaaaaaaaay off... ;-D Maybe if you digged out the hood and found the emblem... hahaha!?! Wonderful colors, nice crop and composition... well done. But... just wondering: what if you shot more of the snow (and the great light) in front and less of the (somewhat distracting) trees in the back... the pic would've been 'cleaner'/more calm.... just a thought... ;-D
