About I was out with one of my students today and I got him to have a play with my digitals. I was sitting down on the road having a break when he turned the camera on me...so I do not take credit for this image. But I like the moody feel to this photo.

This was one of the results from his session using my 5D and 50-500 lens. BW done in camera. No PS apart from resize.

Your student did well. I really like the composition with you looking down the road seeemingly waiting for something or someone. Your posture would imply something happpy. The light centered on you makes you stand out and shine.

Hi David. We didn't use any tripods today so yes....this is hand held and no there isn't any IS in this lens. It's a great lens I have to admit.

.......this is a striking black and white shot, the lens is awesome for dof control Judi, the 'sharpness' with such a lens is amazing because I guess there was no tripod involved or perhaps this lens is one with a built image stabilisation?....whatever, it is nice work. cheers, david.

i like the capture ....the way deapth of feild is used here is just wonderful...light and darkness seems to be in peace soft light illuminating the subject well and the darkness around the subject creates a mysterious feel...good shot by ur student
