I think it looks great Laura. I've got a new lens to play with too that I can go pretty minimal dof. It's so fun playing around with. The yellow is hard to get this much detail. Good job.

Wow, Laura! I think I like this one even better. Your focus is on the petals in the front in this one, and on the back petals in the yellow one, which might have something to do with the increased clarity of this one. I'm not sure, but I still think that yellow is harder to define. At any rate...I think this one is worthy of a seperate post!

An excellent macro, Laura! Your DOF worked out very well to isolate the center and far petals, and the water drops add a lot of interest. The diagonal composition is perfect. Very well done!

I don't think the color has anything to do with the focus. I shot another lily the same day, which happened to be more red in color. I am loading it for you to view!

Wonderful color and composition Laura! Very fresh and appealing, I think Kathy might be right about losing some of the focus and the yellow color...I've always had a hard time with yellow flowers...seems like the detail on yellow is easily lost. Still, a pleasure to view.

The dof is great Laura! The contrasting colors are very pretty. I'm wondering if you lost a little bit of clear focus to achieve that dof, but it might be the yellow color that you are dealing with. It seems to be harder to focus on. Anyway...nice shot!

The background is very beautiful and it gives a plus of shine to the yellow of the flower.It also creates depth in spite of the limited DoF.The drops of water work as ornaments to the petals! Very beautiful image!
