Harry, As a fan of many of you eagle shots and really your entire portfolio I have to say that this one is not at the the top of my list. It is a good shot in general. The grain is not that distracting, in fact I think it adds to the composition. What realy distracts me is the definate pattern in the BG. I do understand that when shooting wildlife we do not allways get to choose our background. on a positive note, the color, timing and composition are terrific.

Perfect timing + Perfect colors!

I do not like the texture the background has, don't know if that is a ISO issue or JPEG compression result, but a smoother background will make this, a perfect shot from my POV.

Cheers

Thanks Ray. I did send the people of usefilm an email with the request of adding the D2x in the camera list, so we will just wait and see if they will do so. Best regards, Harry

Harry, I do appreciate your reaction. Your image is really terrific. If it hadn't been in "Critiquer's Corner," I probably wouldn't have made the suggestions since--whether we admit it or not--it is a intrusion. I do like to do this kind of work because it makes me look at my own shots a bit more critically. So, thanks for the opportunity. By the way, I really like that spot of red!

Thanks George. Your suggestions are very good and I'll accept them and will carry them out. Did'nt see the fringing before upload and do really think thats distracting. I'll left the lower right part with the yellow and red color tone in the image because it compared to the colors of the beak of the eagle and would add to the image, but now i've seen your crop, I think that one is better and less busy. Thanks again. Best regards, Harry

I love the "action" in this shot. Great DOF and i like that the background appears somewhat urban. Can you send UF an email requesting that they ad the D2x to the camera list. I've done so and maybe if enough of us ask, it will get added. Thanks & God bless.

A real beauty, perfectly captured. Any photographer would be proud of this one. If pressed to make a suggestion, I would try to soften the fringing on the upper body and perhaps do a bit more cropping. Whatever you decide, this is very good work.
