You have done a good job capturing his emotions, you can sense from his expression, that even though he is not overseas, he has that slight look of fear as if just realizing what is going to be. Alison

It's not the thunder that will get you it's the lightening. Practice makes perfect and determines how one will react under pressure. Honing one's skill may prove beneficial one day. Or knowing if called upon you can complete any task.
Funny how others when they see these Military people, they sometimes complain, yet they forget it's the politicians making choices where these people end up. For whatever reason.
What I like about your photos is they depict the average, everday person from down the road, who have made a Choice to do something and put the TV remote away.
Enough said...Take care...Brian

Kambiz,
In combat everyone has fear, unless there is something really wrong with that person... however this was just a training exercise...I can see where you think it might look like fear, but it wasn't...he was into the training --

Thanks And still I say the same thing, that I can collect it from his facial expression Don't forget, down there he is a man with lots of fears like all of civilian people in our normal life He is not a robo cop that if the enemy shoot at him, don't die!!!

Kambiz,
No fear...it is just a training exercise...you seem to read way to much into my photos...or look for something that is just not there...but you are right about the chewing tobacco... some Soldiers do tend to smoke or chew tobacco...
On a different note...Soldiers are tested for drugs on a regular basis...and if the are found to be using drugs...then they are gone...the U.S. Military does not tolerate drug users...enough said.

I see the mixture of fear, anger, frustration in his eyes. I feel sorry for him. It seems to me he is stock there without any choices! Also I can see the situation of his teeth decoloration as a result of too much tobacco or marijuna smoking. His rifle is not sharpened Overall I like the fear expression on his face.
